The Road to Excess leads to the Palace of Wisdom – William Blake
I painted this series in 2009-10 while transitioning from a 2 year life abroad with my family back to our home in Vancouver. These pieces are my attempt to find “solid ground”. While the seascapes reference movement, the abstracted, aerial-view landscapes represent the necessary tumult that change provides. They are wide ranging in style, but all of these paintings allude to travel, home and lessons learned along the way.
