Mixed Media: Paint and Textiles on Vintage Images

My mixed media pieces are vintage and contemporary photographs altered with paint, textiles and embroidery. With current dialogue around gender in mind, I explore commonly held beliefs and poke fun at binary definitions of femininity and masculinity, Using humor, nostalgia and a hint of malice, my aim is to subvert harmful narratives by creating alternative stories featuring powerful woman as protagonists
